Russia declared its commitment to building strong bilateral relations with North Korea across all domains. This statement comes in response to accusations from South Korea, Japan, and the United States, alleging that North Korea supplied weapons to Moscow.
When questioned about the allegations, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov dismissed them, describing such reports as groundless and lacking specifics. He emphasized that similar reports have been circulating for an extended period, and the Russian government sees no value in commenting on them.
Peskov further stated, “North Korea is our neighbor, and we will continue to develop and enhance our close relations across all sectors.”
Regarding the specific question of weapons deliveries, Peskov maintained, “We do not provide any comments on this matter.”
In September, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a summit in Russia, during which they discussed military affairs, the conflict in Ukraine, and potential Russian assistance for North Korea’s satellite program.
The United States and its allies have expressed concerns that Kim might supply weapons and ammunition to Russia, which has depleted significant stockpiles during its 20-month war in Ukraine.
As the situation unfolds, Russia remains resolute in pursuing robust ties with North Korea, despite the ongoing accusations and international scrutiny.
